Planning Sales Staff

Position summary The position will entail the provision of on-line tests (English-language communication proficiency assessment tests), mainly towards the human resource departments of corporations with extensive global needs, and providing solutions for customers' testing needs.
We seek a person who has the breadth of vision to work on future expansion into overseas markets and product development, and who has the potential to manage business enterprises.
* JIEM is expanding their presence in India, China, etc.
Qualifications
  • Experience in planning sales
  • Interest in English as a second language education

 

Particularly welcome qualifications:

  • Master's degree in linguistics, second language acquisition, TESOL, test theory, statistics, etc.
  • Experience in marketing Web services

Test Development Specialist

Position summary
  • Work related to maintaining the quality of CASEC and further development
  • Design and development of English-language instructional materials
  • Work related to the research of second language acquisition
Qualifications
  • Education: Master's degree or higher
  • Research experience in second language (English) acquisition or linguistics
    (language acquisition by non-native speakers of English)
  • Experience in or knowledge of developing English tests or analyzing data is welcome
  • Teaching experience is considered a plus
  • Japanese language skill:Business level (At least JLPT N2)
Research Fields Related to English language: Second language acquisition, linguistics, TESOL, language testing and evaluation, pedagogy (vocabulary, grammar, reading, listening, writing, speaking, logical thinking), development of instructional materials, ICT and CALL, preschool and primary school English language, business English, language portfolios, CEFR, lifelong learning, English language corpus, learning models

Researcher (Specializing in Test Theory and Psychometrics)

Position summary
  • Work related to maintaining the quality of JIEM’s services and further development utilizing item-response theory and other test theories
  • Problem solving and proposing new methods for handling issues based on customers' needs relating to test analysis and data aggregation
  • Work related to research and surveys about thest theory and psychometrics
Qualifications
  • Education: Master’s degree or higher
  • Research experience in test theory or psychometrics
  • Experience in or knowledge of creating English tests or analyzing data is welcome
  • Experience with managing projects and developing systems is considered a plus
