This is an English communication ability assessment test with basic development by the Society for Testing English Proficiency, Inc. It was further developed and operated by the Japan Institute for Educational Measurement, Inc. Using a CAT (computerized adaptive testing) system, it can measure English communication ability with high accuracy in just 40-50 minutes.

Japan’s first computerized adaptive testing (CAT) based on item response theory (IRT) enables accurate measurement of English proficiency with an average test time of 40 to 50 minutes. The results are displayed immediately

CASEC SPEAKING has been developed as an English speaking test. It is said that most Japanese are at CEFR A1-A2, a beginner level. The test is designed suitable for this level to assess more accurately the English speaking skills of the candidates at a beginner to intermediate level so that they can easily take the test.

A new online test easily accessible for beginners and suitable for most Japanese! It is available whenever and wherever you have access to the Internet.

This Internet service supports English learners who are aiming to take Eiken (formal name: The Practical English Proficiency Test). It offers teaching materials optimized for each individual through a cycle of measurement, analysis and e-learning.
